Cairo is almost like an entirely different city after dark. Bars & Pubs

Topping the list of bars is the eccentrically decorated Deals. This laid back place to enjoy a cold beer features a music theme with records and televisions hanging from the walls throughout the entire bar. Locals and travelers hang out here and it is a great place to relax after a long day of sightseeing.

Odeon Palace Bar is a rooftop bar on the Odeon Palace Hotel that is quite popular. Featuring reasonably priced drinks, this is a relaxing bar that is nicely decorated. The ambiance here is perfect for a small gathering of friends or an intimate night out.

Pub 28 is another cozy bar that is a popular stop before heading out for a night of clubbing. Food here is good and you can enjoy some nice steaks or pasta before a long night of clubbing. This dimly lit locale is a popular ex-pat hangout, and a great place to meet other travelers. 

Live Music & Clubs

Jazzup in the Nile Hilton Hotel is a great venue to see both jazz and other music live. A house DJ here spins salsa and visitors will enjoy the cozy, albeit quite loud atmosphere. Staff here are friendly and accommodating and can help you choose from their selection of Egyptian drinks or shisha.

L'Aubergine draws a younger 20-something crowd and features a DJ and an incredible sound system that is thought to be the city's best. Nights start here at 10 pm, and once things get started the dance floor fills up fast. If you want a table here, reserve one before you go or else you may not get one.

 For a mix of Eastern and Western beats, Morocco is your best bet. This club has increased in popularity over the last couple of years and can get very crowded, so be sure to reserve a table or arrive before 10 pm if you want to have a table.
